How far in advance should we schedule with you?

One or two months in advance is advised.

Where is the best location for our photo session?

I love taking photos in your back yard.  All we need is some shade, a bit of greenery and somewhere to sit like a bench or a couple of chairs.  If you have small children, they are always more comfortable, relaxed and less distracted at their own home.  It is also much easier for Mom and Dad to coordinate clothing changes, snacks or potty breaks if necessary.  It also allows us to include the family pets.

We can also venture out to parks, beaches and cool sites all over San Diego.  We can talk about some of the best places I’ve discovered and the best times to photograph there.

What should we wear?

This will depend on many factors and we can discuss them in more detail before your session.

Here are some basic guidelines:

Wear clothes that are solid in color and avoid patterns and logos.

Long sleeves are preferred over sleeveless tops for ladies.

Dresses are preferred over shorts or pants for little girls.

Women’s skirts should be below the knee.

Denim is great.  Khaki is too.  Just be comfortable.

Everyone barefoot for some photos can be fun.

If you wear glasses, consider removing them or wearing contacts.

How long will the session last?

Typically, no more than two hours for smaller groups at one location.  Maybe three hours with a larger group, family reunion or more than one location.

Can we travel to more than one location during our session?

Yes. More than one location adds variety to your photos.  I find it’s best to choose two locations that are close to one another like your back yard and the park down the street, or the beach and a park nearby.

I’ll travel almost anywhere but there may be a fee for great distances.

What if we decide to cancel or need to reschedule?

Not a problem.  I am flexible so we will figure something out that works for both of us.

How long will we wait for our proof book and negatives?

Approximately three to four weeks.
